Day 6: All Done!!!

We are done! 
6 Days over 6500 books later the Fiction Area is now in Genres!
I am so excited!!!

I can not thank my aide Michelle, my student teacher Barbara and the parent volunteers enough. I could have never done it without you!!

Today we put the entire Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Mystery/Thriller sections on the shelves.

Destiny did gone down today in the middle of a batch update so we had to go back and rescan some of the books. Luckily, I had only done a little bit of books before the system went down. I recommended that you only scan a shelves worth  before you hit batch update. 

The other biggest issue today is that we ran out of room in the fiction area for all the books. Even though we had weeded over 500 books. The problem was we added a lot of books from the short story collection into the fiction area and we also left too much room at the end of the shelves when we put the books back. This meant we had to go back and condense the shelves. It was annoying but something that was bound to happen. 

We do need to get a few more signs because we realized that some of the areas could use double signs but other than that we are done!!

It was a huge amount of work but I really think in the end it will be worth it!
